About The Village of Paciano
Paciano is a hillside village dating from the thirteenth century, its fortifications making it a key component in the defence of the Perugia region. Churches in and around the town feature significant Renaissance paintings and frescoes.
The immediate approach to the village will take you through 4km of picture postcard scenery with rolling hills, isolated farmsteads and cypress trees. Situated 329 metres above sea level and surrounded by olive groves, walnut forest and the Monte Pausillo National Park,
Paciano is an ideal base for rambling, mountain biking, water sports and importantly, sampling the gastronomic delights of Umbrian rural cuisine.
The village itself comprises three gatehouses and three tiny streets, interlinked by many alleyways. Nestled within and in the immediate vicinity, are; two bars, two restaurants, a butchers two grocers, a delicatessen, chemist and cash point
