About The Village of Paciano

Paciano is a hillside village dating from the thirteenth century, its fortifications making it a key component in the defence of the Perugia region. Churches in and around the town feature significant Renaissance paintings and frescoes.
The immediate approach to the village will take you through 4km of picture postcard scenery with rolling hills, isolated farmsteads and cypress trees. Situated 329 metres above sea level and surrounded by olive groves, walnut forest and the Monte Pausillo National Park,
Paciano is an ideal base for rambling, mountain biking, water sports and importantly, sampling the gastronomic delights of Umbrian rural cuisine.

The village itself  comprises three gatehouses and three tiny streets, interlinked by many alleyways. Nestled within and in the immediate vicinity, are; two bars, two restaurants, a butchers two grocers, a delicatessen, chemist and cash point

Travel / Getting there

Perugia airport approx 40Km has direct flights from the UK throughout the year (Stansted : Ryan Air Wed / Fri / Sat / Sun). www.ryanair.com

Pisa and Rome airports are both approx 2 1/2 hours drive away (including break). Both have many UK connections inc. Heathrow, Gatwick, East Midlands, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Belfast. (For us, living in Brighton UK, our prefered option has been to catch the 7:30 PM from Gatwick, which with the loss of an hour and a break on the Motorway would get you into Paciano approx 1:30AM)  www.ba.com     www.easyjet.com  www.jet2.com

Also available during the Summer is a twice daily flight from London Gatwick to Florence airport approx 130km with an Italian package airline. (see below)

There is a direct train connection from Rome (80 mins or less), Florence(1 hour) and Pisa(change at Florence 2hours)  to Chuisi which is approximately 9 km  from Paciano
There is an overnight sleeper service starting with the Eurostar from London St. Pancras / Dartford / Ashford with a 4pm departure arriving at the local station at Chiusi at 8am. Try the following link or contact us for more information.

A taxi service can deliver you from airport or station, but a car is pretty much essential to benefit the enjoyment of the surrounding area.
